At McIlhenny Company, Chef Gronlund handles product development and industrial ingredient sales as well as foodservice recipe development for independent restaurants and chain operators around the world.
On the ingredient side, Chef Gronlund works hands-on with food manufacturers
using the wide array of TABASCO® brand Industrial Ingredients. Using the dry
, liquid or intermediate
moisture varieties, Chef Gronlund helps processors spice up their products. Whether
its in your lab or from his office, he can recommend the right product for
specific manufacturing capabilities. Chef Gronlund has successfully steered companies
in the right direction to make sure the flavor profile fit the needs of the their
food products and their consumers.
Chef Gronlund began his food industry experience at the age of 12, honing his culinary skills in his familys catering business. He attended West Bay Vocational School in North Kingston, Rhode Island and studied culinary arts his junior and senior years of high school. Upon graduation, Chef Gronlund served in the U.S. Army, where he cooked at the post commanders mess for two years.
In 1984, Chef Gronlund completed the culinary arts program at Johnson & Wales in Rhode Island, and worked in local foodservice establishments there for a few years. Chef Gronlund later moved to Florida, to work in culinary product development for such brands as Pace Picante Sauce, Nutra Sweet, Uncle Bens and Tyson prior to joining McIlhenny Company.
He is a recent recipient of the prestigious RCA President’s Award.
